LMICS

The Loddon Mallee Integrated Cancer Service (LMICS) was established in late 2004 by the Department of Human Services as one of the nine ICS across the state.

LMICS is based at Bendigo Health, as they are the host agency. In addition, there are also LMICS team members based in Mildura. It is intended to recruit a person for Swan Hill in the near future.

The LMICS vision is that all people in the Loddon Mallee region, affected by cancer, will have access to:

  • a coordinated and responsive service,
  • delivered by the best staff,
  • as close to home as possible.

The role of LMICS is to provide leadership and vision for the establishment and development of cancer services in the region.

LMICS is undertaking its role by consulting and collaborating with regional health partners and consumers. The goals of service improvement are being guided by a Strategic Plan that articulates a program to improve coordination and integration of services through care that is multidisciplinary, supportive, coordinated and responsive to the needs of the Loddon Mallee community.

LMICS welcomes the enthusiasm, ideas and support of those experiencing cancer, as well as those who are treating and caring for those with cancer.
