Professional Development

Cancer Learning is an online professional development hub which aims to strengthen cancer care through education and development.
It caters for cancer professionals, counsellors and general practitioners.
The aim is to develop a national professional development framework and educational packages. The website provides a first port of call for:

  • health professionals,
  • organisations and
  • cancer networks

who wish to undertake, build, or plan professional development programs and activities in cancer care.

One of the resources on the hub is the EdCaN learning resource suite for cancer nursing.

It provides a competency standards framework and a suite of learning resources targeting the cancer nursing workforce in Australia. Its ultimate aim is to improve health outcomes for people affected by cancer by building the capacity of the nursing workforce in cancer control.

Accessible online, the EdCaN learning resources include eleven “case study” based learnings, supporting resources and educator resources.
