Scholarships

There are two types of scholarships on offer by the Loddon Mallee Integrated Cancer Service (LMICS) trustees (LMICS Executive Committee):

Scholarship A (Courses)

This scholarship is intended to contribute towards reasonable travelling expenses, accommodation and any course fees. The amount awarded depends upon the number of successful applicants in any one year and is entirely at the discretion of the trustees.

Successful candidates are expected to write a report for the trustees within ONE month of the completion of the course.

Scholarship B (Conferences)

This scholarship is intended to cover a symposium (conference) registration fee as well as provide a contribution towards overnight accommodation in a hotel for up to 2 nights and an allowance for travel.

The maximum amount of the scholarship will not exceed $1,000 (inclusive of registration fee).

Successful candidates are expected to write a report for the trustees within ONE month of the completion of the symposium.

Payment

It is required that each successful applicant liaise with the PA / Admin Secretary in organizing all travel, accommodation, course or registration fees.

Application

Contact us to receive a Scholarship Application Form or download the Scholarship Application Form. The following information is required in your application:

  • All relevant qualifications
  • Where and when you qualified
  • Current position with your organisation
  • A full description of your current role with your organisation
  • A description of relevant experience gained from previous and current position(s)
  • Specifically, what you expect to gain through participating in the course/conference
  • How you plan to use the knowledge gained on your return to your department
  • The amount of money you are applying for (provide a breakdwon of costs)
  • A statement regarding sponsorship by your current organisation

You are also required to send a Letter of Endorsement from your present organisation, head of department or other senior professional confirming that they support your application.

Other

Failure to provide all of the required information may be detrimental to this application.
