An Information Brochure for Newly Diagnosed Cancer Patients has been produced by the Bendigo Supportive Care Consumer Advisory Group (CAG).

The final draft has been approved by the members of the CAG at their 30th January 2008 meeting and it will be trialled across the region for a six month period.

It is recognised that the General Practitioner (GP) is the clinician who most often delivers the initial diagnosis of cancer so this brochure will be distributed firstly to GPs and their clinical practice nurses. This should ensure that this resource will play an important part in supporting newly diagnosed cancer patients in a timely fashion.
