Consumer Advisory Groups (CAGs)

Consumers are an important stakeholder in the LMICS initiative and their direct input is highly valued and critical to the success of LMICS.

Consumer Advisory Groups (CAGs) are being established across the region to advise on the needs of the cancer patient and the carer both in the community and the acute setting.

The Bendigo CAG is known as the Bendigo Supportive Care Advisory Group. It was developed in May 2007 and has been working initially on the provision of information for cancer patients and their carers.

During 2008-2009 LMICS will look to set up further CAGs aross the rest of the region.

For further information or to discuss opportunities to be involved contact the Supportive Care Consultant.

LMICS has also developed a consumer’s website (www.LMCancerSupport.com.au) which provides:
  • background information about various types of supportive care services, and
  • a Directory of the Cancer Support available in the region - which is identical to the one offered to Health Professionals on this website.
