Clinical Reference Groups (CRGs)

LMICS supports several Clinical Reference Groups (CRGs) across the region.

CRGs have been established within each Integrated Cancer Service (ICS) to provide leadership and advice for cancer service improvement at an ICS and a health service level, and to participate in the review and implementation of Patient Management Frameworks.

The Clinical Reference Groups have been formed according to service provision in the geographic area centred on:

  • Bendigo (Southern), and
  • Mildura (Northern).

Southern Clinical Reference Groups

The Southern CRGs have been formed around the four identified priority tumour streams:

  • Thoracic CRG,
  • Colorectal CRG,
  • Breast CRG, and
  • Prostate CRG.

These CRGs are co-ordinated by the Regional Multidisciplinary Cancer Care Development Coordinator.

A fifth Southern CRG was formed to address the needs of Supportive Care across all tumour streams. This CRG includes a consumer representative and is co-ordinated by the Supportive Care Consultant.

Northern Clinical Reference Group

The Northern CRG encompasses all identified priority tumour streams. This CRG is co-ordinated by the Cancer Systems Improvement Officer - Northern LMICS.

A Supportive Care CRG is under development in the Northern Sub Region.
